Lately, I've been keeping myself really busy with working around the house. I recently started a renovation of the backyard pond. Last year we were able to roughly landscape the pond by barely just getting the liner in and then filling it with water (which was border-line a big mistake) before winter came. It quickly coated itself with algae, and just simply got really nasty. I was able to attain some pretty nice moss rock and cobble stone from a local nursery/quarry called Miller's Greenhouse / Renewable Fiber. They have been a gold

mine of summer goods. I can feel the itch now. It's more like rash. I even got a haircut. Dad likes it... or does he? I began by draining the pond which consists of a soft liner on top and a hard shell at the bottom of the stream (which was
given to me by my good friend Chuck - what a guy, eh?) After clearing out the hundreds of spiders I was able to dig some deeper trenches and begin to landscape with the actual stone that will permanently house the pond. This is as opposed to the brick which started as a temporary solution.
So far what we have is quite an improvement. I'll keep you posted on any more advancements.

As I'm writing this, it just occurred to me that most of you probably have little to no idea what my house actually looks like... my next post maybe?
